3 Metaphors for asiatics

Plundering and ill-treating Asiatics was a venial offence, and many a seaman after a cruise with the pirates returned to his calling on board an honest merchantman, without being thought much the worse for it.

But there is another vital factnamely, that the Indian Asiatic is a man with very vivid susceptibilities of all kinds, and with living traditions of a civilisation of his own; and we are bound to treat him with the same kind of respect and kindness and sympathy that we should expect to be treated with ourselves.

Asiatics (see Mongolians), may not be citizens; legislation against in the Far West; may be unconstitutional; may not be employed in public work.
