Mahomet opened the campaign of A.H. 608 by the siege of Salvatierra, a strong but not important fortress of Estremadura, defended by the knights of Calatrava.

He retired to the monastery of St. Justus, near the town of Placentia, in Estremadura.

[140] In Estremadura the hogs were fed with wheat (live animals can be transported without roads), while at the same time the seaports were importing foreign grain.

It rises in the province of Teruel, Spain, in the mountain Muela de San Juan; flows west through New Castile and Estremadura; forms part of the boundary between Spain and Portugal; and empties by two arms into the Bay of Lisbon.

Just, a village in Estremadura, Spain, the seat of a monastery where Charles V., Emperor of Germany, spent the last 18 years of his life, and where he died.
