Schreiber, Soden, Klinger, Schink, followed them, the last-named with several productions referring to the subject.

These two works carried the name of Goethe far and wide and made him the accepted leader of the literary revolution which long afterwards came to be known, from the title of a play by Klinger, as the Storm and Stress.

So it was with Schiller: he read Rousseau more or less, the early works of Goethe, Lessing's Emilia Galotti, and plays by Klinger, Leisewitz, Lenz and Wagnerall more or less revolutionary in spirit.
