It is a preface 'To the Reader' intended for a translation of the Filli, and another copy also is extant, both being found among the papers of Sir Edward Sherburne, though in neither does his name actually occur.

Furthermore, I question whether either the preface or the version mentioned therein were by Sherburne at all.
