Croker has promised to undertake a newspaper, probably the 'Star.' Arbuthnot told us before dinner that as yet no progress had been made by Lord Grey, except in getting Lord Althorp after much solicitation.

Outside this piece the nearest approach to pastoral characters to be found in Jonson's masques are, perhaps, the satyr and Queen Mab in the fairy entertainment at Althorp in 1603, Silenus and the satyrs in Oberon in 1611, and Zephyrus, Spring, and the Fountains and Rivers in Chloridia in 1631.

They agreed to represent it to the Government, and a deputation was appointed (I among them) who were received by Lord Althorp on July 25th.
