The exiles established themselves as silk workers in Spitalfields, cotton spinners at Bideford, tapestry weavers at Exeter, wool carders at Taunton, kersey makers at Norwich, weavers at Canterbury, bat makers at Wandsworth, sailcloth makers at Ipswich, workers in calico in Bromley, glass in Sussex, paper at Laverstock, cambric at Edinburgh.

Her most successful exhibitions have been those at Rome, in 1883, when her "Silk-cocoon Carder of Quimper" and "Charity" appeared; and at Turin, in 1884, when "The Three Ages," "The Poor Blind Man," and a portrait of the Prince of Naples were shown, all exquisite in sentiment and excellent in execution.

He had a younger brother, Peter Leclerc, a simple wool-carder like himself, who remained at Meaux, devoted to the same faith and the same cause.
