It was William G. Greene who, returning home from college at Jacksonville on a vacation, brought Richard Yates with him, and introduced him to Lincoln, the latter being found stretched out on the cellar door of Bowling Green's cabin reading a book.

And he rang for a servant and bade him seek out a certain Mr. Yates among the throng of young men who had been taking snapshots.

It resulted in the choice of Stephen A. Benson for President and Beverly P. Yates for Vice-President.

"Is Dr. Yates in?"
